How to replace a crown: 1) put watch on wrist or in pocket. 2) drive to watchmaker's shop. 3) give to watchmaker and tell him to replace crown. 4) retrieve & wear watch when done - don't forget to pay watchmaker. Voila! Haha, this would be my preferred solution 😉. .

The part of the crown that screws down is still screwed in the tube but a Watchmaker will get that out. To be honest, he could probably fix this crown by flaring the part that is sticking out of the case but a new crown would be best. The little spring is there to allow the movement when you screw the crown down.
Some Omega dive watch crowns Omega sells a replacement O-ring for the crown, so if the crown is in good shape (not damaged on the outside and the threads are still okay) if you have that type of crown the cost is just 1 O-ring. For this model, the crown doesn't have a separate O-ring, so you will pay for a new crown. Probably stripped threads on the tube or the crown, and both should be replaced. It's a bit of a job to do. Movement removed from case, bezel removed, crystal removed (as the case will be heated), heat case tube and unscrew, then clean the case, get new tube, Loctite in place, let cure, then reassemble everything. The watchmaker doing the service replaced the crown (different from the original) and pin. Now, when the crown is pulled out to the third position to set the date, it's loose. Sadly, when a family member was evaluating the watch shortly after receiving it, the crown popped off and despite hours of searching was never found.
