- Were the gold plated 806 Navi's issued direct from the Breitling factory or mainly done elsewhere? - Are the 18k gold plated 806's as desirable as the SS counterparts in the eyes of collectors and do they hold their value as well?For the first time in late 1955 and realizing the commercial potential of the now iconic Navitimer Breitling began to experiment with their own logo to feature on the dial, this began with the gold applied ‘Cursive B’ and Breitling Geneve text.
For sale is my 1956 Breitling Navitimer 806. Serial number 871755. Judging by the the serial number range, it is from early 1956. I bought it a little over two years ago and sent it of to Craig for a full servicing 16 months ago. It is a great watch, I just don’t wear it much.
